Summary:Report published by the European Commission on 13 January 2022, concerning the power to adopt delegated acts conferred on the European Commission, as laid out in Article 5(1) and 50 of Directive 2016/797/EU. Further information:Directive (EU) 2016/797 concerns the interoperability of the EU's rail system. It sets out the conditions to be met to achieve interoperability within the EU rail systems and it defines its structural and functional subsystems. Articles 5(1) and 50 of the Directive conferred powers on the European Commission to adopt delegated acts. They were conferred for a period of 5 years from June 2016, and Article 50(2) states that a report should be drawn up in respect to the delegation of powers no later than nine months before the end of the five-year period. The Commission acknowledges and regrets the late submission of the report, which was adopted on 13 January 2022. |
