Summary: Decision (EU) 2022/50- adopted by the co-legislators on 15 December 2021 - which mobilises the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) in response to application EGF/2021/004 ES/Aragón automotive. Further information: The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aims to provide support for workers made redundant and self-employed persons whose activity has ceased as a result of major structural changes in world trade patterns due to globalisation, as a result of a continuation of the global financial and economic crisis, or as a result of a new global financial and economic crisis, and to assist them with their reintegration into the labour market. On 26 July 2021, Spain submitted an application for a financial contribution from the EGF, following displacements in the automotive industry in the country's Aragón region. Following an assessment of this application, the European Commission concluded that the conditions for awarding a financial contribution from the EGF had been met. It therefore tabled on 8 November 2021 a proposal for a Decision to allocate a financial contribution of around €1.5 million in respect of the application submitted by Spain. The proposed Decision was signed off by the co-legislators on 15 December 2021 and published in the Official Journal on 14 January 2022. |
