Special Feature: Innovative EU Research Hones in on HIV

Summary:

With a nod to the current COVID-19 crisis, this month's special feature focuses on the other major global pandemic of the past 50 years and the excellent EU-funded research that has been carried out (and is still being carried out) into developing new treatments and, hopefully, a working vaccine and/or cure.  Life After reconnects with the LETS-CROWD project team, which has continued to develop its solutions to keep mass gatherings safe.  Originally conceptualised with terrorist threats in mind, in a world without mass gatherings, they have innovatively modified their technology to help provide solutions to the challenges posed by COVID-19.  And, finally, Project of the Month showcases the TIPES project that has recently published a new paper on their new model that can help predict severe draughts in the Amazonian basin months before they happen.
