Union of Equality: Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030

Summary:

Communication published by the European Commission on 3 March 2021, comprising the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030.

Further information:

This Strategy aims ensure full participation in society for disabled persons, on an equal basis with others in the European Union (EU) and beyond. It builds on its predecessor, the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020, and contributes to the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR). It also supports implementation by the EU and its Member States of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The Strategy is developed around three main pillars:

• EU Rights;
• Independent living and autonomy;
• Non-discrimination and equal opportunities.
