Council Decision (CFSP) 2020/607 amending Decision (CFSP) 2019/1720 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Nicaragua

Council Decision (CFSP) 2019/1720 sets the group of persons and entities affected by the restrictive measures imposed by the European Union (EU) against Nicaragua in light of deteriorating conditions for democracy and human rights.

The present Decision adds six persons to that list of measures, which include a travel ban and asset freeze. These measures target individuals responsible for serious human rights violations in Nicaragua and were designed not to harm the Nicaraguan population.
