Abstract:

A discussion of Western Values in the post-Cold War Atlantic community, with a focus on the rise of right-wing parties, changing social mores, and the changing shape of societies due to immigration, the decline of mass industry in the West, and the loss of a foil (the Soviet Union) with which to garner solidarity.

Lord Wallace argues that interests and priorities, rather than values, are what have changed among the Atlantic community.
