Thanks to close cooperation between the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, the EU has taken significant strides in the joint work towards an effective and genuine Security Union, putting in place a number of priority legislative initiatives and implementing a wide range of non-legislative measures to support its Member States and enhance security for all citizens.

This report covers developments under two main pillars: tackling terrorism and organised crime and the means that support them; and strengthening our defences and building resilience against those threats.
