Decision (EU) 2019/1569 on the position to be taken within the Joint Committee on Agriculture set up by the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products

Council Decision of 16 September 2019 establishing the position to be taken on behalf of the Union regarding the amendment of Annexes 1 and 2 to the EU-Switzerland Agreement on trade in agricultural products.

The Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products entered into force on 1 June 2002. Article 6 of the Agreement sets up a Joint Committee on Agriculture, which is responsible for the administration of the Agreement and ensures its good functioning.

The Joint Committee is to  adopt a decision amending Annexes 1 and 2 to the Agreement as regards agricultural concessions made by both parties to the Agreement. It is appropriate to establish the position to be taken on the Union's behalf in the Committee, as the envisaged decision will be binding on the Union.
