Set of conclusions adopted by the Council of the European Union on 6 June 2019 on non-power nuclear and radiological technologies and applications.

Further information:

The Council underlines the important role of nuclear and radiological technologies in different areas and invites the European Commission to support research in these fields. The Council also asks the Commission to develop an Action Plan, which should address three specific aims:

• secure the supply of radioisotopes for medical uses in the EU
• improve radiation protection and safety for European patients and medical staff
• facilitate innovation in the medical applications of radioisotopes, radiopharmaceuticals and ionising radiation.
