Summary: Reports, analyses and information on the electoral campaign and the aftermath of the European Parliament election held in the Czech Republic on 24 and 25 May 2019. Further information: The ruling centrist party ANO became the strongest force in the election with 21,18%. The second biggest delegation from the country was a right-wing formation, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), which doubled its results compared to the 2014 election to 14, 54%. Third came the anti-establishment, anti-corruption Czech Pirate party (13,95%), tied with the conservative STAN TOP coalition (11,65%). Right-wing SPD gained 9, 14% of the votes. Most topics that were discussed during the electoral campaign were perceived from a national perspective. |
