Summary: Heads of state of government from the European Union held an informal meeting on 28 May 2019. Further information: Members of the European Council assessed the outcome of the European Parliament elections and launched the nomination process for the new heads of the main institutions of the European Union - President of the European Council, President of the European Commission, President of the European Parliament, the EU High-Representative for Foreign Policy and head of the European Central Bank (ECB). EU leaders requested the outgoing European Council President Donald Tusk to start consultations with Member States and the European Parliament on these matters.
