EU-Tunisia Association Council, 17 May 2019

The 15th meeting of the EU-Tunsia Association Council was held on 17 May 2019.

Further information:

Tunisia and the European Union reviewed their bilateral relations and a joint press statement was published following the meeting.

The Association Council focused on key themes of the EU-Tunisia partnership, including:

• support for socio-economic development and trade relations;
• continuation of the democratic transition and decentralisation process;
• the EU-Tunisia youth partnership;
• mobility and migration.

The Association Council also considered the future of bilateral relations, in particular in view of the partnership priorities after 2020. Matters relating to the situation in the region, security and counter-terrorism were also discussed.
