Summary: Reports, analyses and information on the electoral campaign and the aftermath of the European Parliament election held in Estonia on 26 May 2019. Further information: The country's President declared the elections to the European Parliament on 22 February 2019. As at the day when the elections were declared, seven Members of the European Parliament were set to be elected from Estonia (pending the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union). The campaign for this election was launched in the aftermath of a parliamentary election which registered the emergence of the far-right EKRE party, EKRE. This political force was expected to also make gains in the election for the European Parliament. |
