Summary: On 29 November 2017 the European Commission presented a proposal for a Regulation on the new location of the seat of the European Banking Authority. The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted the Regulation on 14 November 2018. Further information: The European Banking Authority (EBA) was established by Regulation (EU) No 1093/2010. In accordance with Article 7 of that Regulation, the EBA was located in London, United Kingdom. In March 2017 the United Kingdom notified to the European Council its intention to leave the Union. In November 2017, the 27 remaining Member States, in the margins of the General Affairs Council (Article 50), selected Paris, France, as the new seat for the European Banking Authority. |
