Summary: The European Commission released on 23 May 2018 the Spring Package of the annual European Semester, which is framework for economic policy coordinator within the European Union. The Council of the European Union approved the draft Recommendations and Opinions on the member states' economic and fiscal policies on 22 June. The European Council endorsed them on 28-29 June. Further information: This package includes: + A Communication on country-specific recommendations (CSRs) and a set of individual recommendations; In parallel, the Commission also released its Convergence Report, which covers the seven non-euro area Member States that are legally committed to adopting the euro. The 2018 European Semester was launched in November 2017, with the release of the Annual Growth Survey and the Euro area recommendations. In March 2018, the Commission released the Winter Package, which focuses on the national dimension of the economic policy. |
