Further information: The Joint Communication sets out how work could be conducted to facilitate and to help expedite mlilitary mobility, ranging from routine needs to strategic pre-deployment of military forces and resources – all this to be done in full respect of the sovereignty of Member States, in synergy with civilian activities and without disrupting civilian use of infrastructure or unnecessary inconveniences. As regards infrastructure policy, the Joint Communication proposes to build on the existing Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The European Commission and the EU's High Representative for Foreign Policy adopted on 10 November 2017 a Joint Communication on ways to overcome obstacles which discourage the movement of military equipment and personnel across the European Union. |
