Second stage of the consultation with social partners on access to social protection

This includes discussions with trade unions and employers' organisation at the EU level, on how to support access to social protection for all people in employment and in self-employment. The first round of talks was held from 26 April to 23 June 2017.

In parallel, a wider public consultation was also open to collect the views of all relevant stakeholders such as public authorities, companies, the self-employed, platform workers and the civil society.

Background information::

This social partner consultation was launched in parallel with the adoption by the European Commission of the European Pillar of Social Rights in April 2017, which aims to be the framework for a set of legislative initiatives and commitments on social policy across the European Union.
