The United Kingdom: House of Commons: Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee published a report The impact of Brexit on the aerospace sector in March 2018. This was the aerospace strand of the Committee's Brexit and the implications for UK business inquiry.

The Committee concluded that the best way for the aerospace sector to take advantage of global growth opportunities post-Brexit was to maintain harmonisation and not diverge from international standards.

Aerospace accounted for 7% of manufacturing output in the UK and directly employed 114,000 people. One of the key players was Airbus UK, while other major firms in the civil aerospace sector included Rolls-Royce, Bombardier, GKN and Leonardo Helicopters.

The Committee concluded that the best way to take advantage of increasing global demand was continued membership of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and that a departure could be protracted and costly and give no practical benefit. It called on the Government to bring certainty and clarity by ruling out the UK's departure without a deal.
