General elections in Kenya, 8 August 2017

General elections were held on 8 August 2017 to elect a President, members of the Parliament and local authorities, accordingly to the country's Constitution.

The incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta was initially declared the winner of the presidential election with over 54% of the votes against 45% of his competitor, Raila Odinga. However, Kenya's Supreme Court nullified the results on 1 September due to irregularities in the election process. It also requested a new poll to be held within 60 days.
