Council Regulation (EU) No 1284/2009 imposed certain restrictive measures in respect of the Republic of Guinea, in accordance with Council Decision 2010/638/CFSP. These measures include the prohibition on the provision of technical and financial assistance and other services related to military equipment and the embargo on the equipment which might be used for internal repression. The Council is preparing a decision amending Council Decision 2010/638/CFSP in order to lift the arms embargo and the embargo on the equipment which might be used for internal repression. Action at EU level is required to give effect to the lifting of these measures. Council Regulation (EU) No 1284/2009 should therefore be amended. |
