EU-Lebanon Association Council, 18 July 2017

Summary:

The eighth meeting of the Association Council between Lebanon and the European Union was held on 18 July 2017.

Further information:

The Association Council took stock of progress in the implementation of the EU-Lebanon Association Agreement and of the EU-Lebanon Partnership Priorities and Compact agreed in November 2016. There was a follow up on the Brussels conference on Supporting the future of Syria and the region, held in April 2017. The meeting also reviewed the bilateral relations.

Both sides held a discussion on the consequence of the Syrian crisis as well as on human rights and justice reform in Lebanon.
