18th Round Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations between Japan and the European Union

Both sides worked with a renewed sense of urgency in order to respect the objective set by the leaders to conclude negotiations as soon as possible in 2017.

This was the first round of negotiations since leaders met on 21 March 2017, during which they all reconfirmed their commitment for a fast conclusion of talks. The start of negotiations was agreed in March 2013.

The 18th round of negotiations concerning an Economic Partnerhsip Agreement between Japan and the European Union was held on 3-5 April 2017, in Tokyo.

The report on this round of negotiations was released on 28 April.
