Edward Scicluna, Minister of Finance of Malta, participated in a briefing with the European Parliament ECON Committee on the 19 June 2017 as current President of the ECOFIN Council during the Maltese Presidency (January - June 2017). According to the Treaty of the Union 'Member States shall regard their economic policies as a matter of common concern and shall coordinate them within the Council'.
