Adoption of proposal regarding a new European consensus on development

The European Parliament's plenary session endorsed on 1 June 2017 a proposed initiative previously agreed with the Council of the European Union regarding a new consensus on development.

The proposal - adopted in the form of a declaration - was put forward in the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It was published by the European Commission in November 2016 and officially endorsed by the Council in May 2017 following a set of negotiation rounds with the Parliament.
