The European Commission adopted on 4 May 2017 a decision that renders legally binding the commitments offered by Amazon to address concerns relating to parity clauses in contracts with publishers.

The commitments followed a number of competition concerns relating to a number of clauses in Amazon's distribution agreements with e-book publishers across the European Union.

The Commission opened the investigation in June 2015 and asked for feedback on Amazon's commitments in January 2017.
