One person in the coach was injured. The football match was postponed until the following day. A police investigation was undertaken to discover the responsibility for the explosions. Despite initial indications that it could have been a terrorist incident, it was made public on 21 April 2017 that the detained perpetrator, named Sergej W., sought to short-sell shares in the football team, expecting to profit from the transaction if the share price fell in the wake of the bombing. Letters found near the site claiming the incident to have been motivated by radical Islam were seen as not authentic. |
