On the 31 March 2017 High representative / Vice-President Federica Mogherini made some remarks on her arrival to the NATO meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs. She said representatives from NATO and the European Union have met to discuss issues on maritime security, both in the Mediterranean and in the Aegean [Sea], cyber threats and hybrid threats. She went onto mention how the UK leaving the European Union might affect the EU’s capacity to be a defence and security provider. Finally she mentioned Rex Tillerson and that although they have different positions on some issues such as trade and climate, the US administration and the European Union will continue to work well together. |
