The European Parliament's constitutional affairs committee approved on 21 March 2017 a resolution on transparency in the institutions of the European Union.

The text calls for EU lobbyists looking to influence legislation to be required to sign the transparency register before being allowed to enter the European Parliament. The resolution warns that non-transparent interest representation may pose a significant threat to the integrity of policymakers.
