Especially for the young generation who believed that there was no legal way to gain rights for the Kurdish people, Turkey's government policies towards the Kurds in 2016 and 2017 would inevitably have tragic consequences. --- Highlighting the situation the UN Human Rights Office published a report on the 10 March 2017 detailing allegations of massive destruction, killings and numerous other serious human rights violations committed between July 2015 and December 2016 in southeast Turkey, during Government security operations that have affected more than 30 towns and neighbourhoods and displaced between 355,000 and half a million people, mostly of Kurdish origin. |
