Javier SOLANA, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), met with Alejandro TOLEDO, President of the Republic of Peru, on Wednesday, 12 October 2005. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the relations of the EU with Peru, integration processes in Latin America and the preparation of the EU-Latin America & Caribbean (EU-LAC) Summit in Vienna in May 2006. President Toledo stressed the need to reinforce political and economic ties between the EU and Latin America. In turn, Mr. Solana re-iterated the EU's commitment to support ongoing Andean regional integration efforts. |
