EU to discuss future development cooperation with Guatemala

During his first ever visit to Guatemala in October 2013, European Unuion Development Commissioner, Andris Piebalgs, discussed priorities for future EU assistance with the Guatemalan authorities and civil society.

The official visit followed the announcement that the EU would provide up to €775 million for bilateral assistance with Nicaragua, Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras between 2014-2020. €120 million in support to regional projects in Central America between 2014-2020 was also announced.
