Opening remarks by the High Representative Federica Mogherini on the occasion of the 9th Annual Conference on European Space Policy

On the 24 January 2017,the High Representative / Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini made remarks on the occasion of the 9th Annual Conference on European Space Policy.

The main focus of this conference was the European Union Space Strategy. According to Federica Mogherini, this strategy is part of the Global Strategy for Foreign and Security Policy, that she presented last summer. This conference would stress out the need for cooperation, and to develop some kind of common governance of space activities

This cooperaiton could enable to create Europe as a space power. The European Union would face a world of continent-sized space powers, with continent-sized budgets.
