Belarus lifts visa requirements for short-term visits for 80 countries

A presidential decree was signed on 9 January 2017 in Belarus allowing visa-free entry for citizens of 80 countries, including members of the European Union, for visits of up to five days.

The relaxed visa rules apply to visitors who arrive in the country by airplane and was seen as an attempt to further improve its image in the West.
