Several Dutch municipalities have announced plans to experiment with a basic income (for social assistance recipients only). This seems to stem from frustration with the excess of rules and sanctions applying to this group. The idea is that the purpose of the law is better and faster achieved if people are less burdened by unnecessary rules.
