High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini speaks to Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

On the 17 December 2016, Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, had a call with Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The European Union strongly condemned all acts of terrorism. The PKK, including its affiliate TAK, is listed as a terrorist organisation in the EU, with action being taken against them by the EU institutions and the Member States.

The High Representative and the Minister also discussed at length the situation in Syria, and notably in Aleppo and other besieged areas. The European Union continues its humanitarian support to Syrians in need, including refugees in Turkey.
