State aid: Commission authorises UK support to convert unit of Drax power plant from coal to biomass

On 19 December 2016, the European Commission decided that UK support for the conversion of one unit of the Drax power station from coal to biomass was in compliance with EU state aid rules. The project would further EU environmental and energy targets whilst maintaining competition in the Single Market.
