Mosul emergency: First in a series of planes delivering EU aid touches ground in Iraq

On 12 December 2016, urgently needed relief assistance was delivered to Iraq through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

A cargo plane carrying close to 40 tonnes of emergency supplies landed in Erbil, Iraq, in the first of several operations organised jointly by the European Commission and Member States.
