State aid: Sector Inquiry report gives guidance on capacity mechanisms

On 30 November 2016, the European Commission published the final report of its capacity mechanism sector inquiry. It reached the conclusion that Member States needed to better evaluate the need for such mechanisms and provided guidance on how to make their design deliver on security of supply while minimising competition distortions.
