The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy and the President of the Central African Republic (CAR) chaired on 17 November 2016 jointly chaired a donors conference aimed at mobilising the international community to support the agenda of the country's authorities to achieve peace, security and reconciliation, as well as to promote development and economic recovery.

As a result of the conference, international donors pledged $2.2 billion (€2 billion) in aid for the Central African Republic.
