On 15 November 2016, following a petition made by the Belgian authorities, the European Commission agreed to modify the 2014-2020 Cohesion Policy programme for Brussels in order to redirect a portion of funding towards a social inclusion project. The integration of migrants in cities and the fight against urban poverty were priorities under the Urban Agenda for the EU. Belgium and France jointly coordinated this Partnership on urban poverty. |
