Economic and Financial Affairs Council, 16 November 2016

A meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council was held on 16 November 2016. The agenda includes the following topics:

+ Preparation of the negotiations with the European Parliament on the 2017 EU budget. A concilatory committee meeting was scheduled to take place on the same day.

The Council adopted its negotiating position on 12 September, while the Parliament approved its amendments of the initial proposal on 26 October. The Council underlined that it would not be able to accept all the changes, thus transferring further negotiations to the conciliatory committee.
