New talks on Syria in Lausanne

Nonetheless, the foreign ministers who were present - including those of the US, Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey - planned to stay in contact with each other. European leaders did not take part.

For commentators this was not enough. They called for concrete political initiatives.
