Meeting between the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Policy and South Korea’s Foreign Minister

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy met with South Korea's foreign minister on 5 October 2016.

During the meeting, the strategic partnership between the two sides was reviewed. The increasing bilateral cooperation was highlighted. Events in the Korean peninsula were also discussed and there was an agreement that North Korea (DPRK) must abide by its obligations and abandon all its nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programmes in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner.
