The European Commission cleared on 4 October 2016 the proposed acquisition of Faiveley Transport by Wabtec, following an in-depth investigation conducted under the EU Merger Regulation. The approval is subject to the implementation of commitments, given that both companies are significant suppliers of train equipment. The Commission had opened the investigation in May. |
