An emergency humanitarian initiative for Aleppo

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy and the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid announced on 2 October 2016 the launch of an urgent humanitarian initiative for Aleppo, in Syria.

The initiative aims at allowing humanitarian organisations to do their work and civilians to be rescued and protected. The EU called on its partners and all the involved parties to unite on this initiative for Aleppo for the sake of humanity and the political future of the country.
