State aid: Commission approves Polish scheme to support high-efficiency co-generation of heat and power

On the 28 September 2016, the European Commission concluded that a Polish scheme supporting high-efficiency co-generators of heat and power is state aid but is in compliance with the state aid rules since it promotes efficient energy production and thereby meet European Union energy and climate goals. The combined heat and power certificates had been introduced in Poland in 2007.
