On the 20 September 2016, the European Union announced the intention to boost its efforts to provide learning opportunities and protection, in cooperation with UNICEF, to hundreds of thousands of children and youth who have fled from Syria.

The EU Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis (the 'Madad Fund') is one of Europe's key instruments for delivering on €3 billion pledge at the London conference on supporting Syria and the region.
