Declaration by the High Representative, Federica Mogherini, on behalf of the European Union concerning South Sudan

On the 20 September 2016, the European Union welcomed the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2304, which prolonged United Nations Mission in South Sudan until 15 December 2016 and in the same time authorised the deployment of a regional protection force. Furthermore, the European Union called on to establish the Hybrid Court for South Sudan to investigate all crimes, which had been committed during the fighting in July 2016.
