On the 29 August 2016, the European Commission tabled its proposal on fishing opportunities in Baltic Sea for 2017, which is based on the recently adopted multiannual fisheries management plan for this area. The main aim of the proposal is to improve overall economic performance and increase employment in the same time, while keeping in mind the sustainability of Europe’s fisheries.
