On the 19 July 2016, the European Commission accepted a revised regulatory proposal to allow Deutsche Telekom to upgrade its network with vectoring technology. Although further developments are expected to ensure competition.

This decision is a result of the earlier in-depth investigation, which had been opened by the European Commission in May 2016.
